The Inspiration Behind ECET Foundation
ECET Foundation was established to improve access to learning and reduce barriers to education by providing affordable academic support and creative wellbeing programmes for children, young people, and the wider community.
During my teaching experience, I observed that many students need additional learning support beyond the classroom. Schools and teachers work extremely hard to support their students, but within a busy classroom it is not always possible to provide the level of individual attention some learners require.
I noticed that many students — including vulnerable learners, those with special educational needs, and others facing different challenges — benefit greatly from consistent support outside school. At the same time, many families find private tuition difficult to afford, which can limit access to the support their children need.
These experiences inspired the creation of ECET Foundation — a community-focused initiative dedicated to making learning support more accessible to families.
Through small-group sessions and community-focused programmes, we aim to keep learning support accessible and affordable while helping students make consistent academic progress, deepen their understanding, and achieve ongoing development throughout their education.
Our goal is to create a supportive learning environment where students can continue developing their knowledge, confidence, and academic progress throughout their learning journey.
Wellbeing &
Screen-Free
Creativity
Balancing the digital world with hands-on, creative mental refreshment.
In today’s digital world, children, young people, and adults spend a significant amount of time using screens for education, work, communication, and entertainment. From online homework and virtual learning to everyday digital activities, screen use has become a regular part of daily life. While technology plays an important role in modern society, it is equally important to create opportunities for screen-free activities that support creativity, focus, and mental wellbeing.
Creative activities such as water colouring, embroidery, knitting, crochet, flower making, and different forms of painting—including fabric painting, canvas painting, mirror work, texture art, and traditional styles such as Warli art—allow people to relax, focus, and express their creativity while developing patience and concentration.
Engaging in these hands-on activities also helps strengthen thinking abilities, encourages creative problem-solving, and provides a healthy balance to daily routines while refreshing the mind.
At ECET Foundation, we are committed to promoting screen-free creative engagement and mental wellbeing across the community. Through ongoing sessions and special holiday workshops during half-terms, Easter, Christmas, and other school breaks, we aim to provide opportunities for children and young people to explore creativity away from screens. In addition, creative wellbeing sessions and workshops will be available throughout the year for adults and community members who wish to take time for creative activities, relaxation, and mental refreshment within their daily routines.
Our goal is to ensure that as many members of the community as possible can benefit from these activities, encouraging creativity, improving wellbeing, and supporting healthier daily habits.
